Congress retains power in Hunsur City Municipal Council polls

Mysuru, February 12:- The counting of votes of Hunsur City Municipal Council concluded on Tuesday and the results of all the 31 Wards were announced. Congress is marching towards holding on to power again.

Among 31 Hunsur CMC Wards, Congress won 14 Wards, JD(S) won 7 Wards and BJP (contested in 22 Wards) won 3, independent candidates won in 5 Wards and SDPI won in 2 Wards.

From JD(S) Devaraj, Sharavana, Shaheentaj, Krishnaraj Gupta, Srinath, Rani Perumal have won. From Congress Anisha, Bhavya, Swamy Gowda, Deva Naika, Sameena Parvez, Sowrabha Siddaraju, Manu, HN Ramesh, Ranjita, Geetha, Manju, Shwetha Manju, Priyanka Thomas romped home. From BJP, Ganesh Kumaraswamy, Harish Kumar and Vivek scored. Independent candidates Asha Rani, Satish, Ramesh, Parveen Taj, Malak Pasha and Satish won. Sameena Banu and Syed Yunis of SDPI won the elections. (MR/KS)
