Congress won’t give up Mysuru Mayor’s post: Siddaramaiah

Mysuru, October 24:- Former chief minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday gave shocks to Mysuru Mayoral aspirants from Janata Dal (Secular).

Speaking to media persons at Mandakalli Airport in the city, the former chief minister said that Congress would not give up the Mayor’s post and a party corporator would become the Mayor.

“We need the Mayor’s post. Congress party has won more number of seats than JD(S) in the MCC polls. We are asking for the Mayor’s post based on our performance. I don’t know about the coalition in APMC president’s election. I have been fighting in politics all alone. It is embarrassing to work with other parties,” he said and agreed that JD(S) and Congress have misunderstanding with regard to campaigning for the by-elections.

“Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been trying to weaken the coalition government and now they have become weak. Coalition candidates will win all the 5 constituencies. Congress leaders of Mandya have returned from foreign tour and will campaign for JD(S) candidate. As BJP is our common enemy, we will work together. I will also go to Mandya and discuss with all the leaders. I have a meeting to attend at K R Nagar this evening,” Siddaramaiah added. (KS, NGB)
