Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar remembered on his 6th death anniversary

Mysuru, December 10:- Mysuru Rakshana Vedike organised 6th memorial day of Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar at Gun House premises in the city on Tuesday. Senior writer Dr CP Krishna Kumar inaugurated the event.

“Mysuru royal family has given a lot of contributions to the princely state. Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar contributed a lot to Kannada literature and heritage. Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar contributed to the Carnatic classical music as well. If we go on saying, the contributions of Wadiyars of Mysuru, they are never-ending,” he said.

“Nalvadi contributed a lot to the development of Karnataka. Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar upheld the legacy of his family. He developed Mysuru as a member of Lok Sabha. He was also a great lover of cricket and contributed to the development of the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA). He was always pro-people. He was treating everyone equally,” said the president of district Kannada Sahitya Parishat (KaSaPa) Dr YD Rajanna.

President of Mysuru Rakshana Vedike My Ka Prem Kumar urged the government to install a statue of Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar in the city.

Senior doctor Dr SP Yoganna, vice president of Mysuru Rakshana Vedike Kumar Gowda, Ravi, Gururaj, Pramode, Swaroop, Mohan, Chakrapani and others were present. (MR/KS)
