Mysuru, November 22:- “Youngsters must invest their time on research and only with more research a nation can progress,” said Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Rudabhai Vala.
The Governor said, “The doctor’s profession is a service-oriented profession and not a profession of profit making or business. Today research is taking place in a rapid manner in the country and the youngsters have diligently used their intelligence. With intelligence and determination of our youngsters, our nation can surpass the western countries including the United States in the field of research.”
“The general public has the same trust and belief towards doctors on how they have on God. Hence, the onus lies on those working in the medical field to serve the people. It is need of hour for the youngsters to invest time in the field of research,” he added.
On the occasion, a total of 1,274 students received their doctoral degrees, graduation and post-graduation certificates in various faculties of medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, management studies, life sciences and bio-medical sciences.
A total of forty students shared 56 medals and certificates.
Ishitha Malik, a student of MBBS received four gold medals while Ajay Koushik, Dr Nudurpati Gowtham Kumar received three gold medals in MBBS and MD-general medicine degree, respectively.
Suttur Mutt pontiff Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji, JSS Mahavidyapeetha executive secretary Dr C G Betsurmath, Vice Chancellor of the JSS Medical University Dr B Suresh, Registrar of the University Dr B Manjunatha, JSS Medical College Principal Dr H Basavanagowdappa others were present.
