Cops on their toes to tackle rowdyism in city

With a move to curb the growing rowdyism in the city, over 120 rowdy-sheeters were paraded at the CAR Grounds on Friday.

The rowdy-sheeters parade was conducted in the presence of Police Commissioner, Dr A Subramanyeshwara Rao, DCP (Crime and Traffic) N Rudramuni, DCP (Law and Order) Dr H T Shekhar and CCB ACP Gopal.

Rao, who recently announced ‘anti-rowdy’ squad to tackle rowdyism in the wake of the murder of two rowdy-sheeters,  conducted a parade of rowdy-sheeters. Interacting with the rowdy-sheeters, the top cop of the city issued a stern warning to the rowdies and asked them to keep away from creating any trouble.

Later, the Police Commissioner also directed the officers to verify the records of those rowdy-sheeters who are still active in anti-social activities.

Raid on rowdy-sheeters houses

Earlier, DCP Dr H T Shekhar and his team conducted a raid on houses of rowdy-sheeters in Paduvarahalli. The police inspected the houses and seized weapons that were allegedly found in their houses. Shekhar said, “Police have kept a high alert on Paduvarahalli area following the murder of two rowdy-sheeters. All the rowdies have been warned that stringent action would be taken against them if they involve in criminal activities.”
