Mysuru, March 18:- The effect of coronavirus has now resulted in postponing of the Centenary Convocation of the University of Mysore which was supposed to be held in March. The university has decided to organise the Convocation in May or June instead of March.
Vice-Chancellor of UoM Prof G Hemanth Kumar, speaking to media, said that the university has decided to postpone the convocation as it is inevitable.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was invited for the Centenary Convocation of the UoM and it has become difficult to organise the event as coronavirus has spread across the nation before the Prime Minister could give his consent.
Prof Kumar said that as the government has decided to cancel all the events, the Convocation also stands cancelled at least for the time being. (MR/KS)
