Coronavirus effect: MCC reduces working hours of pourakarmikas

Mysuru, March 26:- The Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) has reduced the working hours of pourakarmikas keeping in mind their health and well-being during the lockdown.

The working hours, which used to be from 6:30 am to 2 pm is now rescheduled from 6 am to 10:30 am and that of drainage workers from 8 am to 4 pm to 8 am to 1 pm. Commissioner of MCC Gurudutta Hegde has released the new timings through a notification.

The MCC has instructed the officials to take necessary precautionary measures to ensure the safety of pourakarmikas. The pourakarmikas have been instructed to work wearing mask, gloves and boots. The commissioner has instructed the health officer to provide required hand gloves and masks to pourakarmikas.

He has also instructed them to provide soaps and hand sanitisers and make sure that they are properly using them to keep their hands clean. He also instructed them to provide treatment if any family member of the pourakarmikas is down with cold and fever. (MR/KS)
