Mysuru, June 15:- “Coronavirus cases are increasing in the state but the potency of the virus has reduced according to experts. There is no need for another lockdown,” said Minister Narayana Gowda.
He was speaking to media persons in the city on Sunday.
“Mumbai has a very high population density. 50% of Mumbai is slums. That is why more coronavirus cases are found in Maharashtra. Government has taken several measures to control the pandemic,” he said.
“There will not be another lockdown in the state. People of Karnataka are aware of the situation. I don’t know the condition in other states, but in Karnataka, there will be no lockdown again,” he said.
“Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will make former minister A H Vishwanath an MLC. He is also a reason behind the party coming to power in Karnataka. The party high command will fulfill its promises. He will get a ticket to contest the MLC election. Party has more aspirants, but the high command will take a final decision,” he added.
“As there are disputes over installing statues at the premises of KRS Reservoir, we will collect the opinions of the royal family. We will meet Rajamatha Pramoda Devi Wadiyar. A decision will be taken after a discussion. Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar and Sir M Visvesvaraya have contributed a lot to the state. Everyone knows about their contributions. We will take a decision in 2-3 days,” he added. (MR/KS)
