Coronavirus cases come down in Mysuru

Mysuru, April 28:- The number of coronavirus cases is rapidly coming down in Mysuru. The last three days have come as a big relief for the administration. There was a time when people thought Mysuru might overtake Bengaluru in the tally of coronavirus cases.

Five patients got discharged from the hospital on Monday. 89 patients had tested positive for coronavirus in the district. Of that, 43 have been discharged from the hospital and 46 patients are being treated. There was a time when 2-3 people would test positive for the virus. After the Jubilant factory employees were tested and treated, the numbers have come down drastically.

The district administration tested all the contacts of Jubilant Generics factory employees. It has helped in reducing the number of cases. 4,726 people were in home quarantine in the district. 3,903 people have completed the 14-day quarantine period. Only 813 people have to complete their quarantine period. 3,402 samples were tested so far and 3,313 tested negative. The number of home quarantine has also reduced in the district. (MR/KS)
