Coronavirus pandemic: First meeting of DCC task force held

Mysuru, April 3:- As instructed by the president of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), DK Shivakumar, the first meeting of District Congress Committee task force led by District Congress committee president Dr BJ Vijay Kumar was held at the Congress city office here on Thursday.

The committee decided to form a task force in all the 8 constituencies of the district with 15 members in each task force with a Helpline cell: 82967 69577, 97413 92799.

The task force will function under the leadership of MLA HP Manjunath and Dr Vijay Kumar. The committee instructed Zilla Panchayat members to donate Rs 10,000, taluk panchayat members Rs 5,000, city and town municipal council members to donate Rs 2,500 each to KPCC Relief Fund, A/c 0788101056855, Canara Bank, Bengaluru, IFSC: CNRB0000788 via cheque or DD.

The committee opined that the state and central governments have taken several decisions to combat coronavirus. Some of them have been effective and some have failed. The committee decided to identify the failures and bring it to the notice of state and central governments. The committee decided to pass on the grievance calls to the notice of tahsildar, Zilla Panchayat or taluk panchayat members. The committee also instructed the block presidents alone to receive the DD or cheques. (MR/KS)
