Mysuru, April 20:- Corporator Sowmya Umesh visited residences of 30 autorickshaw drivers on Basaveshwara Road, Ramanuja Road, Lakshmipuram and distributed ration kits to their families on Sunday (April 19).
As the government has not granted permission for the auto and cabs to function, it has become difficult for auto drivers to meet their ends. The corporator distributed kits containing rice, dal, cooking oil, salt, sambar powder and other essentials.
“More than earning, staying alive is important now. The entire nation is locked down to avoid the spreading of coronavirus. Coronavirus has no discrimination and spares no one. The entire world is suffering because of this unforeseen emergency. If we don’t take precautions, it will be difficult for us to survive. As Mysuru is declared as ‘red zone’ and hotspot, we have to be extra cautious,” she said. She requested the public to follow the guidelines of the government.
BJP leader Umesh Kumar and others were present. (MR/KS)
