The High Court on Thursday stayed proceedings against Prof K S Rangappa in connection with an FIR registered against the financial irregularities at KSOU.
Justice Anand Bhyrareddy also ordered notice to Jayalakshmipuram police and Khadar Pasha, financial officer, KSOU.
Rangappa has claimed that the complaint does not meet the requirements of law. “There is no complaint as such and the police without applying their mind have registered an FIR.”
On allegation of paying Rs 95 lakh to IEM, Thane, Rangapa claimed that the transaction occurred five months after he demitted the office.
Meanwhile, the III additional and district session court has reserved its order on anticipatory bail petition by Rangappa to Saturday. He had moved petition seeking advance bail before the city court a week ago.
