Mysuru, January 24:- “In the ‘Free Kashmir’ placard row, if Nalini Balakumar is proved to be anti-national, appreciate her advocates who have taken up the case. In a way, we would have helped in proving she is anti-national,” said an advocate for Nalini, Jagadish here on Friday.
“We won’t comment on Mysuru Bar Association (MBA). Advocates from Mysuru come to Bengaluru. We have come from Bengaluru to Mysuru. We are like brothers. We are fulfilling our duty,” he added.
“Argument should be held even if Nalini has to be proved guilty. Whether she is an anti-national or not will be decided by the court. We are arguing for her. Discussions are being held in the public domain for and against us. We are just doing our duty,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Second Additional Judicial Magistrate First Class Court will hear Nailini’s bail plea this afternoon.
Nalini and the other students have been booked under IPC sections 34 and 124A (sedition) for displaying ‘Free Kashmir’ placards during a protest held at Manasagangothri campus of University of Mysore recently. (MR/KS)
