Covid-19 cases comes down in Mysuru district

With 3 deaths in Mysuru district on Friday, toll mounts to 2289

Mysuru, July 24:- Mysuru district continues to report less number of Covid-19 cases for the past several days with less than 200 infections per day. The district on Friday (July 23) reported 157 new infections and 173 more patients recovered from the disease and were discharged from designated hospitals and Covid Care Centres (CCCs).

The tally of cumulative caseload reached 1,71,843 and the total recoveries reached 1,67,794, according to a bulletin from the Health and Family Welfare Department..

The deaths due to the coronavirus has been on the decline and the district has recorded death in single digit, the toll has climbed to 2289. Two deaths from Mysuru city and one from Periyapattana were recorded on Friday.

Out of the 2289 deaths recorded so far, Mysuru city recorded 1644 deaths followed by Nanjungud – 126, Mysuru taluk – 120, T Narasipura – 104, Hunsur – 90, K R Nagar – 85, H D Kote – 63 and Periyapattana – 57.

Mysuru city reported 73 positive cases on July 23 followed by Periyapattana – 43, Hunsur and K R Nagar 12 each, H D Kote-7, Mysuru taluk – 6, Nanjangud – 3  and T Narasipura – 1.

As of July 23, Mysuru city registered 1,06,364 positive cases followed by Mysuru taluk – 13,736, 10,789 in Nanjangud, 10,232 in K R Nagar, 9722 in Hunsur, 8404 in T Narasipura, 7256 in Periyapattana and 5340 in H D Kote.

With 835 active cases in Mysuru city, the tally in the district stands at 1760 and the case count has further come down below 2,000 as of July 23. A total of 1,75,1176 coronavirus samples were tested till July 23, 7218 on Friday alone.

Periyapattana  has 366 active cases, Hunsur – 161, Mysuru taluk – 123, K R Nagar – 161, H D Kote – 71, Nanjangud – 69 and T Narasipura -16.

Till July 23, as many as 18 patients succumbed to mucormycosis (Black fungus) disease; 13 from K R Hospital, 4 from Apollo Hospital and one from Narayana Multispecialty Hospital and the district has 30 active cases; K R Hospital – 16, JSS Hospital – 7, Columbia Asia Hospital Mysuru and Apollo Hospital – 3 cases each and Fort Cauvery Hospital – one case.
