Covid care centre for women opened at Gokulam in Mysuru

Mysuru, June 2:- A special Covid care centre for women was opened at International Youth Hostel at Gokulam second stage here on Tuesday evening (June 1).

Chamaraja Constituency MLA L Nagendra, Mysuru City Corporation councillor Bhagya Madesh, former MLA Madegowda and Mysuru Deputy Commissioner Rohini Sindhuri were present.

This is the first Covid care centre started exclusively for women in Mysuru.

The centre has 64 beds. V V Puram Maternity Hospital will look after its medical needs. Doctors and nurses from Ashakirana Hospital will offer their services here.

Plans are also in the pipeline to start three more CCCs in the city. Chamaraja Constituency’s Government Nature’s Therapy and Yoga Medical College will start CCC with 50 beds, N R Constituency’s Farooqia Pharmacy College will start a 200-bed care centre and K R Constituency’s BCM Women’s Women’s Hostel will start a 300-bed care centre. All these centres will offer free services.

In rural areas of the district, 19 CCCs have been opened and there are around 1700 people working here.

Mysuru city has 8535 positive cases while rural areas have reported 6550 positive cases. (MR/KS)
