Cricket betting racket busted in Mysuru; over Rs 40 lakh cash seized

Mysuru, April 11:- Mysuru City and Central Crime Branch (CCB) Police carried out a raid on house number 1743 at Hebbal 2nd Stage, 2nd main road here and arrested three people involved in cricket betting and recovered Rs 40,45,350 and other instruments.

The arrested have identified as Alok Vaman Kale, 38 and Vaman Motiram Kale, 68 of Hebbal and Chethan R, 27 of Naganahalli who came to bet on matches.

Rs 40,45,350, a laptop, 6 cell phones and a note counting machine have been seized.

The raid was guided by DCP Dr Vikram Amathe, DCP N Vishnuvardhan and CCB ACP Lingappa B R. CCB inspector Shivaprakash, N G Krishnappa, Shivaswamy, Rajashekhar, Raghavendra Gowda, ASI Subhash Chandra, R Raju, Asgar Khan, D Srinivas Prasad, M R Ganesh, R Purushotham, Krishnegowda, Narasinga Rao, Manjula, Pushpalatha Bai, Shivananjaiah, Kantharaj, Umesh, Diwakar, Shailesh, Shivakumar and Rajesh carried out the operation.
