Mysuru, January 01:- The heritage city of Mysuru has registered a 15% decline in the crime rate in 2017 and a total of Rs 2 crore worth stolen items has been recovered.
Mysuru Commissioner of Police Dr A Subramanyeshwara Rao said, “Mysuru City has seen a dip in the crime rate by 15% in 2017 following the introduction of various initiatives taken up by the police personnel. “The police have recovered stolen products worth Rs 2 crore.”
Rs 8.5 crores traffic fine collected
A total of Rs 8.5 crore has been collected as fine in 2017 from the vehicle riders for violating the traffic rules which is considerably high compared to the previous year. In 2016, a total of Rs 7.3 crore was realised as traffic fine. –KK
