Mysuru, March 9:- “Forensic science can track any sort of criminal incidents,” said In-charge Vice Chancellor of University of Mysore (UoM) Prof C Basavaraju.
He was speaking after inaugurating a workshop on ‘Forensic science with law is never a flaw’ at Centenary Hall of Maharaja College on JLB Road here on Friday jointly organised by the Department of Forensic Science and Criminology, Maharaja’s College, University of Mysore and Clue4Evidence Forensic Lab, Bengaluru.
“Everything has to be done according to the law in Indian judicial system. If a person is arrested, she has to be presented before the court within 24 hours. Arrest warrant should be presented before the arrest. Sometimes culprits may try to escape due to lack of evidences. Then forensic science laboratories come into picture and help in proving the crime. Earlier Hyderabad was the only place where such laboratory existed and now Karnataka also has one,” he said.
Director of AIISH Dr S R Savithri, Dr Harsha Sharma, principal of Maharaja College Prof B Nagaraja Murthy, administrative officer Dr Ramaswamy and others were present. -(KS, NGB)
