Mysuru, December 1:- “Along with education, cultural activities also help us frame our lives,” said the president of the Women’s Wing of Raitha Sangha, Mahalakshmi Mahadev.
She was speaking after inaugurating Drawing Competition and health guidance programme, organised by Nannavva cultural team at T Narasipura Government Girls’ High School recently.
“Understanding art and culture are essential for rural girls. We love drawing rangolis in front of the house every morning. We have to develop our talents as they will be helpful at some point of time,” she added.
“Foreign countries value Indian art. Many have achieved great things in life by learning painting. Develop your interest in art,” said the headmistress of the school Jnaneshwari.
Health officer Mahadevappa, folk artiste Y G Mahadev and others were present.
H P Hamsa, M Spoorthi, Bhanupriya were awarded first, second and third prize in the competition. (MR/KS)
