Mysuru, December 15:- “Culture and Sanskrit stay protected because of the Mysuru royal family,” said assistant professor of Karnataka Sanskrit University Prof Bhaskar Bhat Joshi.
He was speaking after distributing certificates to students of Mayakara Gurukula at Ganabharathi at Kuvempunagar in the city on Friday.
“The Wodeyars of Mysuru constructed the Sanskrit College. There is Jayachamarajendra Sanskrit College in Bengaluru. The Bangalore University is functioning in its premises. Mayakara Gurukula is functioning really well and is no less compared to any university. Studying alone is not enough unless we implement what we have learnt. No Veda and epics can give us strength without proper implementation,” he added.
Rajamatha Pramoda Devi Wadiyar, Dr Siddhanti K G Puttahonnaiah, Girish Bhat, and others were present. (MR/GK)
