The Rajasthan team emerged as the best contingent at the 17th National Jamboree for Scouts and Guides held at Adakanahalli from December 29 to January 4.
The Rajasthan team brought smile on state education minister’s face, who had come all the way from Rajasthan to watch the performance of their state as they defended their title in style.
The Rajasthan team impressed with their colourful performances, march-past and band duty. The cultural events were vibrant and colourful. Apart from being adjudged the Best Contingent, they also walked away with the best Scouts award, while Uttar Pradesh was adjudged the Best State in Guides.
On the last day of Jamboree, the organisers had arranged an ‘All Faith Prayer’ where religious leaders including Dr Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamiji of Suttur Mutt, Someshwaranath Swamiji, Bishop Rt Rev Dr Thomas Anthony Vazhapilly and Moulana Usman Sheriff Saheb were present.
The national and international jamboree flags were brought. Over 27,000 participants who had come to Adakanahlli from across the country bid adieu to the city after a weeklong event.
