More than 11 lakh people visited Dasara exhibition during the three-month long mega expo organised in the city.
Karnataka Exhibition Authority Chairman Siddaraju said, “The Authority has earned a revenue of Rs 2.53 crore from entry tickets and vehicle parking. Following this, we have approached and sent a proposal to state government on developing an international expo centre at the Exhibition ground.” In the exhibition that will conclude today, Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat has bagged first prize in the Zilla Panchayat stall section for its presentation on Yakshagana, Tulu Culture, Hulikunitha, Kudubi dance, Karaga dance. The second prize was bagged by Chamarajanagar Zilla Panchayat and the Mandya Zilla Panchayat secured third prize.
In the boards and corporation sections, Karnataka Sheep and Wool Development Corporation has bagged first prize, Dr B R Ambedkar Development Corporation has bagged second prize and MYMUL has bagged third prize.
In the government department section, Kannada and Cultural Department bagged first prize, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj department bagged second prize, tourism department bagged third prize, while in the central government offices section, Department of Posts, bagged first prize whereas Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement bagged second prize in miscellaneous organisation section.
