CWG 2018: Indian boxers Vikas Krishan, Gaurav Solanki bag gold medals

Prime News, International and National Sports, Boxing, Gold Coast (Australia), April 14:- Boxer Vikas Krishan won Gold in men’s 75kg category to take India’s medal tally to 57 in this year’s Commonwalth Games in Gold Coast.

Krishan beat Dieudonne Wilfried Seyi Ntsengue of Cameroon 5-0 to bag India’s 25th Gold at CWG 2018.

Earlier in the day, Gaurav Solanki followed Mary Kom’s footsteps and won the gold medal in the men’s 53kg category at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast on Saturday.
Solanki dominated most of the battle against Northern Ireland’s Brendan Irvine and won by a split 4:1 verdict. The battle was fast paced and it took some tactical brilliance from Solanki to win the bout.
In the second round, Solanki put up a relentless show and landed many heavy blows on his opponent to tilt the verdict in his favour.-(NGB, Inputs: Agencies)
