Rally to cover 800 km in the state: Dr Pradeep
The department of youth empowerment and Nimhans Bengaluru jointly organised a unique scheme called ‘Yuva Spandana’ in all districts of Karnataka. To promote the Yuva Spandana scheme, ‘Greater Malnad cycle rally’ was organised by I Cycle organisation, which covers 8 districts of the state. The cycle rally was flagged off on Saturday at the premises of Kote Anjaneya temple at 6:30 am by Deputy Commissioner of Mysuru, D Randeep and MLA Vasu.
Briefing on the rally Dr Pradeep Banandur, Assistant professor, Department of Epidemiology, Nimhans said, “Yuva Spandana programme has been urban-centred so far. It gives free suggestions to the youth aged between 15 and 35. To give further awareness to people about the scheme, the cycle rally will be organised. It covers an area of 800 km including Kushalanagar, Kukke, Sakaleshapura, Kemmannugundi, Kalasa and Sringeri. Every district will welcome the competitors and send them off the next day”.
“In Yuva Spandana scheme, the youth can get solutions to their problems related to relationships, education, job and stress. ‘Yuva Karyakarthas’ are employed in all the Yuva Spandana centres who discuss the problems with the needy and try to find solutions. Already 184 clients have visited Yuva Spandana centre in Mysuru and 60% are of urban areas. Rural areas are getting informed about the programme gradually, which can be helpful in the coming days,” he said.
