Dasara cultural events at 7 places including Mysuru Palace, Jaganmohan Palace: Minister Somanna

Permanent drinking water facility at Chamundi Hill in next three months

Mysuru, September 21:- “Cultural programmes will be held at seven venues including Mysuru Palace and Jaganmohan Palace as part of Dasara festival,” said District in-charge Minister V Somanna.

He was speaking after releasing the poster of Dasara cultural programmes 2019 by the Dasara Cultural Sub-committee at Zilla Panchayat Hall here on Saturday.

He said that the cultural event will be held at seven venues including the Mysuru Palace and Jaganmohan Palace. The cultural event will be held from September 29 to October 7. Today we have released the poster of various cultural programmes which gives the glimpse of the activities to be held. Many renowned artistes and cultural artistes from across the country will be participating. On the day of procession, all preparations are made to set up child care centres, health centres and provide drinking water facility as tourists will be arriving in large numbers. “I will be having meal with pourakarmikas on September 24 and spend two-hours with them. There is no basic infrastructure near the statue of Nandi and at the foot of Chamundi Hill. I have instructed the Deputy Commissioner to provide all basic infrastructures soon,” he added.

“Permanent drinking water facility will be provided at Chamundi Hills in the next three months. Many senior citizens reach the Chamundi Hill Temple by climbing through the steps; necessary arrangements will be made for them to rest while climbing steps as they too get tired. Chamundi Hill Road will be asphalted at a cost of Rs 4.5 crore. The road from Srinivas Temple to the Outer Ring Road will also be repaired,” the minister added.

Chamaraja Constituency MLA L Nagendra, Phaneesh, Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G Shankar, Zilla Panchayat CEO K Jyothi, officials and ZP members were present. (KS, NGB)
