Dasara elephants arrive at Aloka

Mysuru, August 14:- The first batch of Dasara elephants left the Haadi camp to take part in the Mysuru Dasara festivities next month.

Nine elephants – Arjuna, Balarama, Abhimanyu, Ganjendra, Varalakshmi, Cauvery, Bhima, Vidya and Vijaya are now camping at Aloka near Yelawal.

They will be brought to the Aranya Bhavan, here on August 17. After puja, they will be taken to the Mysore Palace on the same day at 11 am. District In-Charge Minister Dr H C Mahadevappa will welcome the elephants at Jayamarthanda arch of the Palace.
