Dasara exhibition is one of the major attractions of Mysuru Dasara. People from Mysuru and far off places find it a unique experience for shopping, wandering, eating foods of various places and to know the schemes of the government through the stalls set up by the government bodies. This time too the Dasara exhibition is decked up for the preparation to welcome the guests.
“Dasara exhibition authority has decided to conduct the exhibition with grandeur. The global tender for the 143 shops in the exhibition ground, amusement park and food shops are undertaken by the ‘Fun world and resorts’, Bengaluru, and have started their work of setting up stalls, amusement park, mono train, food court and other attractions in the exhibition,” said N M Shashikumar, Chief Executive Officer of Karnataka Exhibition Authority.
“More than 30 government departments are setting up stalls in the exhibition. 30 zilla panchayats of the state are preparing to open their stalls. Dasara will be inaugurated on October 1, and the exhibition will also be inaugurated on the same day by the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. Minister for tourism, Priyank Kharge and District In-charge minister Dr H C Mahadevappa will take part in the inauguration,” informed Shashikumar.
“This time the Dasara exhibition will have a bigger parking space. Every year parking was a big trouble for the exhibition visitors. This year, 500 buses, 800 two wheelers and 30 buses can be parked at the M G road entrance of exhibition. Dasara exhibition will be held between October 1 and December 26, for 86 days. A stage has been constructed in the exhibition ground for the cultural programmes that are scheduled to entertain the visitors. It will also be inaugurated by the CM. Steps are being constructed outside the exhibition authority to enable people sit and watch the programmes through LED display,” he said.
Last year Seven Wonders of the World were the major attraction for the visitors. This year, ‘Fun world and resorts’ are constructing the replica of ‘Amaranath Yatra’. It will give the visitors a virtual feel of visiting Amaranatha. Shashikumar requested the tourists and Mysureans to visit the exhibition to get drenched in the cultural, entertainment and shopping bonanza.
