Dasara: Govt to release Rs 10 cr towards tender bill payments

Mysuru, September 11:- District in-charge Minister V Somanna has said that the government has to pay for the development works undertaken in the city for Dasara festivities and other works and said the government would release Rs 10 crore to pay the bills.

He was speaking at a meeting of tender holders at Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) recently. He assured of releasing Rs 10 crore after discussing with the chief minister and the finance department.

He assured of actions to pay the bills without delay. He requested the tender holders to finish the works ahead of Dasara. He asked the officials and tender holders to work in tandem. He instructed MCC to clean the drainages on either side of the outer ring road and clear parthenium plants.

The president of the Association of Tender Holders, Chandrashekar said that the MCC has several bills pending which is troubling the tender holders. The minister assured of releasing the funds by March.

MLAs SA Ramadass, L Nagendra, Mayor Pushpalatha Jagannath, Deputy Mayor Shafi Ahmed, Additional DC Poornima, MCC Commissioner Gurudutta Hegde, MUDA Commissioner PS Kantharaju and others were present. (MR/KS)
