As part of Dasara celebrations, 21.1 km-long half-marathon will be held in Mysuru on October 2. The half-marathon is open for participants of all age groups.
The half-marathon will be flagged off from the Nazarbad Police Station Circle and proceed to Karanji Lake Road through Regency Talkies, Hardinge Circle, KR Circle, Devaraj Urs Road, Maharani’s College, Metropole Circle, Paduvarahalli Circle, Chaduranga Road, Speech and Hearing Circle, Andolana Cirlce, Vishwamanava Double Road, Vijaya Bank Circle, Kukkarahalli Circle, Fire station, Ramaswamy Circle, 100 feet Road, Basaveshwara Circle, Hardinge Circle, Police Commissioner’s Office, Nazarbad Police Station Circle and reach Chamundi Vihar Stadium.
The winners of half-marathon will receive cash prize of Rs 30,000 for first, Rs 25,000 for second and Rs 20,000 for third place. Rs 15,000 will be awarded for fourth place, Rs 10,000 for fifth place and Rs 5,000 for sixth place.
In college boys and girls category, first prize winner will receive a cash prize of Rs 15,000, Rs 12,000 for second, Rs 10,000 for third, Rs 8,000 for fourth, Rs 6,000 for fifth and Rs 4,000 for sixth place.
In high school category, Rs 10,000, Rs 8,000, Rs 6,000, Rs 4,000, Rs 2,000 and Rs 1,000 cash prize will be awarded for first, second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth place respectively.
Along with this, the Dasara Sports sub-committee is organising an 8 kilometre run for college boys, 5 kilometre run for college girls and a 3 kilometre run for schoolchildren.
Interested participants for the half-marathon and other runs may register their names at Decathlon in Siddharthanagar between 10 am to 5 pm from Sept 29 to Oct 1. Participants have to produce an identity card and address proof documents for registration.
