District In-charge Minister HC Mahadevappa launched the official website and logo of Dasara-2016 at the DC office on Saturday. Bengaluru-based artists Lokesh Ravudhi have designed the official logo of Dasara 2016. Who is who of the heritage city were present on the occasion.
The logo has a blue background which marks the Dasara theme of water conservation. The official website of Mysuru Dasara is designed by Dot Angle, a Mysuru-based IT team. The website will be providing all relevant informations on the historical Mysuru Dasara in both Kannada and English languages to the tourists. Website also gives information on palace on wheels a one day package tour of all the palaces in and around Mysuru. It is said that the website will be updated on a regular basis to benefit the tourists coming from various parts of the country. It also furnishes information on programmes, time, venue and the route maps and guidelines of tourist places in and around Mysuru.
Users can also subscribe for regular updates on Dasara through WhatsApp.
This year artistes who are interested to perform in various Dasara cultural events and stage can send their online by logging on to www.mysoredasara.gov.in and post their entries which will be processed by a committee and will shortlist entries. Earlier, artistes, who were passionate to perform at the Dasara cultural events, had to apply through various organisations and committees. Some of the artistes had to come from faraway places to submit their entries. To simplify the process, the administration has approved online registration from this year.
