Dasara: MLA Ramadass stays away even as Somanna oversees preparations

Mysuru, August 31:- The Dasara preparations are gaining momentum in the city as the festival is nearing. District in-charge Minister V Somanna himself is inspecting all the preparations and instructing the officials where the works need to be hastened up.

Upset that he has not been given a cabinet berth,  Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA SA Ramadass is skipping the preparations. The MLA, who was absent when the Dasara elephants were welcomed to the city, skipped the executive committee meeting later. He made himself available when Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa was in the city a couple of days back. But he stayed away from the city rounds organised by Somanna today to take stock of the situation.

Mysuru-Kodagu MP Pratap Simha and Chamaraja Constituency MLA L Nagendra accompanied the minister but Ramadass was unavailable. Though the minister inspected Ramadass’ Constituency Krishnaraja, the MLA gave it a skip.

Even the opposition MLAs are extending their full support to help Somanna to organise the Dasara successfully, but the BJP MLA playing hide and seek is raising many eyebrows. He had also stayed away from Dasara festivities when Shobha Karandlaje was the district in-charge minister last time. (MR/KS)
