The historical Mysuru Dasara’s official posters and other publicity materials were released at the Deputy Commissioner’s office on Monday.
Minister for Co-operation and Chamarajangar District In-charge minister H S Mahadev Prasad, in the presence of MP Dhruvanarayan, Mysuru DC Randeep, MLA Somashekhar and others, officially released the Dasara Posters.
Addressing the media persons, Prasad said, “Preparations for the Dasara celebrations have already gained momentum, in order to reach more people and provide more publicity to this historical festival we have come out with posters, promotional videos both in Kannada and English, Jingles to air in FM channels. A 10/20 feet size Dasara poster will be put on display at every taluk and districts. A total of 400 posters will be put to display across the state and around 1000 posters will be stickered to KSRTC Busses.”
“To increase tourist inflow to the city, promotional materials will be put for display at railway stations, bus stands and airports. City-based company Dot Angle who have designed the Mysuru Dasara official website have come up with Promotional videos both in Kannada and English which will be used as promotional materials,” he added.
He also said that road and welfare works will be taken up by the Mysuru City Corporation immediately and will try to finish it off before Dasara commences.
P V Sindhu will miss Dasara-2016:
P V Sindhu, the Olympic silver medallist, who was officially invited to Mysuru Dasara, will not be able to make it as she is preoccupied with other programmes. On Monday, DC Randeep confirmed that Sindhu will not be inaugurating the Mysuru Dasara sports meet. However, Randeep said that he is still waiting response from Sakshi Malik and Dipa Karmarkar, the other two star Olympians.
