As the Mysuru Dasara festivities began, rituals by the royal family have begun at the Amba Vilasa Palace. The private durbar by the King has been the tradition of Mysuru Dasara. The private durbar rituals began on the first day of the Navaratri celebrations.
This is the first Dasara celebration for Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar after his marriage. Yaduveer and Trishika Kumari conducted the pooja rituals. The durbar preparations begun early on Saturday morning. Idols of lions were attached to the throne between 5:50 am and 6:10 am. The throne was assembled and kept at the ‘Darbar Hall’ prior to the Dasara.
‘Kankana Dharane’ to Yaduveer was performed at the Chamundi thotti between 7:00 am and 7:20 am. The ritual will be done to Trishika Kumari Wadiyar at the Vani Vilasa prayer hall at the palace.
‘Pattada Aane’, ‘Pattada Kudure’ ‘Pattada Hasu’ (elephant horse and cow) were brought to the Chamundi thotti at 11:00 am. Kalasa Pooje was performed at 11:30 am. Several rituals prior to the enthronement of Yaduveer were performed. He was seated on the throne between 11:45 am and 12:30 pm. Chamundeshwari idol was brought to Kannadi thotti from Chamundi thotti. It concluded the durbar of the first day.
Yaduveer, wearing the royal attire, performed pooja to the throne before taking the seat. He was sprinkled holy water brought from different temples of Mysuru. Trishika Kumari Wadiyar and Pramodadevi Wadiyar were present on the occasion. Yaduveer was hailed while arriving at the durbar Hall.
The private durbar will be conducted again at 7:00 pm. From October 2, the durbar will be held in the evening, at 7:00 pm.
