Dasara rituals commence at Palace, throne handed over to Royal family

The Naada Habba is just five days away. Keeping in tune with the festivities, Dasara rituals have begun at the Mysuru Palace. The Royal family has gone into action in right earnest. The district administration handed over the throne to Pramoda Devi Wadiyar at 6 am on Sunday. Priests performed Navagraha homa and Shani pooja before assembling the throne.      

The throne is made up of 16 pieces. Every year, residents of Gejjegalli village assemble the throne. This year also, the employees of the palace, who are from Gejjegalli, started assembling the throne at 8:00 am. Scion of the Royal family, Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar attended the ceremony at 9:00 am. As the rituals began at the palace, the entry of tourists to the palace was prohibited from morning till 1:30 pm.

The throne will not be available for the public darshan till October 1. After assembling the throne, it would be covered by a white cloth and police security will be provided to the throne.

Deputy director of the Palace Bboard, Subramani was present on the occasion.
