Dasara rituals in palace, entry restricted for four days

Entry of the tourists to Mysuru palace is restricted on certain days as the Wadiyar family is conducting various rituals prior to Dasara at the palace. On Sunday, September 25, the district administration handed over the throne to the Royal family, and assembling of the throne was done. In view of this, entry to the palace was restricted till 1:30 pm.

Tourists who were not aware of the closure of the palace for the visitors were seen returning disappointed. The ticket counters near the gates of the palace were shut and the information of the restricted entry was displayed in both Kannada and English.

Apart from this, entry to the palace will be restricted for four more days. On October 1, private Darbar will be held by Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm. On October 10, Ayudha Pooja will be held in the palace and the entry of the visitors is restricted till 1:30 pm. On October 11, due to Jamboo Savari, entry will be restricted for the whole day. On October 20, the throne will be detached into 16 parts and handed over to the district administration. Visitors are not allowed till 1.30 pm.
