Mysuru, May 6: “We are planning to popularise Dasara in international level and for that, the preparations will begin from now. The same has been instructed to the officials,” said tourism minister Priyank Kharge.
He was speaking to the media after the meeting at DC office on Saturday.
“Earlier, Dasara preparations were beginning just 2 months prior to the festival. Due to this, it was not possible to campaign regarding the festival in foreign countries. But this year, we are beginning the work from now onwards. We need the support of Archeological department, hotel owners’ association, KSRTC and other organizations,” he said.
“To develop the tourism in Mysuru, various projects are being undertaken. Adventure sports, aero sports, Cauvery golf club, a mobile app with all the details of Mysuru will be launched. Air service has been stopped as the tourists are not coming in a large number. If the tourism is developed, the flights will resume their operation,” he said.
