DC abuse case: Second accused Manjunath arrested

The second accused allegedly involved in abusing Deputy Commissioner C Shikha has been arrested by Mysuru Police on Sunday night. Manjunath (53), an associate of former Zilla Panchyat president K Marigowda is facing charges under various sections of IPC following a complaint by the Mysuru DC.

Manjunath was picked up from his residence in Mysuru and produced before Third JMFC Judge at home-office around 10.45 pm on Sunday. His bail petition is scheduled to come up for hearing on Monday afternoon. His arrest has come three weeks after a complaint was booked against him.

Advocates S Lokesh and R Gangadhar have moved bail petition for Manjunath and objections will be filed by prosecution.

With his arrest, the pre-arrest/anticipatory bail petition filed before VII additional district court will stand cancelled.

Search for other accused including Marigowda is on.
