The Heritage walk to provide information regarding the heritage buildings of Mysuru was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner D Randeep on Tuesday morning at the premises of Town Hall.
The heritage walk is led by Historian Eechanuru Kumar.
“Such initiations are essential to preserve the heritage buildings of the city. We will call for a meeting after the Dasara. There are plenty of heritage sites to be presented before the world in Mysuru. The district administration will take initiation to preserve these,” said DC D Randeep.
“Heritage buildings of the city such as Mysuru Palace, University of Mysore, CAVA, and other buildings have a unique value. Their values should reach the people. The heritage walk is organised to cater to this need,” said Eechanuru Kumar.
Commissioner of Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) G Jagadish, MUDA commissioner M Mahesh, Zilla Pachayat CEO Shivashankar were present on the occasion.
Including foreigners, more than 500 people participated in the walk.
