Mysuru, February 5:- “After the implementation of election code of conduct, the work load will be increased. Officials need to gear up with their preparations to make the election process successful,” said Deputy Commissioner D Randeep.
He was speaking at a meeting held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office here on Saturday.
“Even the booth level officer should know the security measures. Mapping of police stations in Chamundeshwari and Varuna Constituencies have to be completed. The tahsildar and police department should get this work done before the next meeting. All the works will be carried out as per the directions of the State Election Commission. Sensitive voting booths have to be identified. Officials will have to work in three sections, district election management, district election communication, district election security. Zilla Panchayat CEO Shivashankar will look after sweep programme, director of urban development cell Lokanath will look after election training, T Javaregowda will look after EVM and VVPAT maintenance. S M Mahadev of the DC office will be in-charge of providing election essential materials, Prabha and Somashekhar will look after election code of conduct and helpline, deputy director of news and public relations department R Raju will be in-charge of media management and media communication, Zilla Panchayat officer K B Prabhuswamy will be in-charge of election cost management, Janardhan of Tourist Department will look after dummy postal ballet maintenance, NIC official Devaraj is in-charge of software maintenance. A trainer will be allotted for every 50 employees. The officials have been directed to convene a meeting of political parties and inform them about the election costs. Physically challenged persons should not miss out the opportunity to vote. They should be extended the required facility,” the DC said.
MCC Commissioner G Jagadish, DCP N Vishnuvardhan, ASP Rudramuni, Shivegowda and others were present.
