DC Rohini Sindhuri ready for new challenges in Mysuru

Mysuru, September 29:- She has just taken charge as the Deputy Commissioner of Mysuru district. The sense of urgency on her face was palpable. The new Deputy Commissioner, Rohini Sindhuri, seems to be in a hurry to get down to business. She knows she will be working against time with Dasara festivities just a month away. Another major challenge is controlling the coronavirus cases that are on the rise. She said, “I know there are a couple of challenges ahead of me and will take suitable steps.”

Rohini took charge on Tuesday (September 29). “Mysuru is reporting a lot of coronavirus cases. The heritage city stands next to Bengaluru in terms of Covid-19 cases. I will try and take all the possible steps to control the pandemic. I have just taken charge and will call a meeting of the officials and proceed accordingly.”

On Mysuru Dasara festivities, she said, “Yes, it is no doubt a big challenge. Keeping in mind the pandemic situation, we will plan for the Dasara. I have the experience of conducting Maha Mashtabhisheka in Hassan’s Sravanabelagola. In 10 days, some 5 lakh people had gathered. That I was successful there, I should use that experience for Dasara. I am confident.”

On her new stint, Rohini opined, “Mysuru is not a new place for me. In fact, I was trained in Mysuru and have a fair knowledge of the district.”  (MR/GK)
