DC Sharath forms sub-committees for Dasara Festival

Mysuru, September 23:- ‘Nada Habba’ or Dasara Festival is just a month away. Though it is going to be a simple Dasara this year, the authorities are not going to compromise on the tradition. District in-charge Minister S T Somashekhar had hinted last week that the state government has decided to keep the festivities as simple as possible in view of the coronavirus pandemic. As a prelude to the 10-day festivities, the district administration has set up sub-committees to oversee the celebrations.

Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner Gurudutta Hegde is the special officer for Dasara sub-committee on cleanliness and arrangements. MCC health officer Dr Jayanth is the working president while Dr D G Nagaraj is the secretary.  Zilla Panchayat (ZP) CEO Pandey is the assistant special officer for tableau, while Industries and Commerce joint director T K Lingaraju is appointed as working president and Khadi Board’s assistant director Meghana will be the secretary. Additional DC Dr B S Manjunath is the special officer for the invitation and welcome desk. Additional Commissioner of MCC M N Shashikumar is the working president and MCC’s Zonal Commissioner Kuberappa is the secretary.  CESCom director Manohar Bevinamarda is the special officer for lighting arrangements and he will have engineer Munigopalaraju as working president and Yogesh K B as secretary.

Mysuru Commissioner of Police Dr Chandragupta is the special officer for the procession and DCP Dr A N Prakash Gowda is the working president. Additional Police Commissioner Shashidhar M N, Kannada and Culture Department’s Director Chennappa H, Mysore Palace Board deputy director T S Subramanya will be the secretaries.

Zilla Panchayat CCO Bharathi D is the assistant special officer for cultural Dasara while Rangayana joint director A N Mallikarjun will be the working president. Chennappa and Subramanya will be the secretaries.

The sub-committees have been formed according to the Deputy Commissioner B Sharath’s guidelines. (MR/KS)
