Mysuru, February 26:- Karnataka Senapade in a memorandum submitted to the Mysuru Deputy Commissioner Abhiram G Sankar on Wednesday, has urged him to issue directions to all private schools in the district to display name boards in Kannada.
“All the name boards of private schools in the district are in English. Even the school buses and vans have details in English. The fee receipts too are in English. These educational institutions are using the land and water of Karnataka, but they are not respecting Kannada language. We are warning these institutions to install name boards in Kannada. We want the district administration and Education Department to cooperate with us. As per the government rules, 60 per cent of the name board should be in Kannada. We request the deputy commissioner to convene a meeting of all private educational institutions and implement the government order on giving primacy to Kannada,” said Tejaswi Kumar of the senapade.
“All the educational institutions should display name boards in Kannada prior to the beginning of the next academic year. The fee structure of the school should also displayed,” he added.
