Mini theatre at Kalamandir almost ready

Mysore, Jun 19: Deputy Commissioner D Randeep visited the newly constructed mini theatre at Kalamandir premises.

The construction work of the theatre, a long-term demand of the people of Mysuru, is getting final touches. Deputy Commissioner D Randeep visited and inspected the works.

Speaking on the occasion, he said, “We are currently launching this two-storey building at a cost of Rs 16 lakhs Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will come to Mysuru on June 30. The inauguration will be done by him whenever he is available. People and artists of the city were waiting for the theatre since long. About 99% of the works have been completed,” he added.

He said that most of the pending works will be completed in the next two days. Seating arrangements for 200 people have been done to watch programmes at the mini theatre.

Several officials inspected the construction work from a distance. Our  Deputy Commissioner seems to be different. He himself sat in one of the seats to see if it is comfortable. He had a few suggestions to Deputy Director of Kannada and Culture Department, Chennappa.

Officials, social worker Gopinath and others were present on the occasion.
