Deputy Commisisoner D Randeep along with other officials visited and inspected the memorial site of Dr Vishnuvardhan which is gearing up for the stone laying ceremony.
The weeds have been cleared for the construction of the memorial in the five acre land near Haalaalu Village in the Mysuru- HD Kote Road. Deputy Commissioner along with few other officials visited the place to oversee the preparation. The stone laying ceremony is scheduled to be held on December 6 and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will lay the foundation stone for this Rs 10 crore memorial.
When Deputy Commissioner visited the place, a few farmers claimed that the site was their property but later officials managed to convince the farmers and asked them to produce documents of ownership. Randeep said if farmers produce the ownership documents the district administration would think about compensation or would provide them alternate land.
