Mysuru, April 8:- Deputy Commissioner of Police Geetha Prasanna gave a surprise visit to the Mysuru KSRTC Suburban Bus Station here on Thursday (April 7) to take stock of the situation.
Responding to the complaints that private bus operators are charging more than what they are supposed to, the DCP warned that action would be taken against them if there is any complaint.
With the KSRTC employees’ union refusing to budge, the indefinite strike entered the second day. Though the authorities have roped in private buses as an alternative, the passengers are struggling because they are forced to pay more. Buses that are available are far and few.
Talking to bus owners, she said, “Passengers can’t be taken for a ride. If any bus operator is found to be charging more, the concerned person will be arrested.” (MR/KS)
