De-addiction camp under Project Prerepana held

Mysuru, February 15:-NR Foundation, the philanthropic arm of agarbathi to aerospace conglomerate NR Group, recently conducted a de-addiction drive for alcohol and drug addicts under the phase II of Project Prerepana in association with the implementing partners Swami Vivekananda Youth Movement (SVYM).

The Valedictory programme was inaugurated by Senior Journalist Amshi Prasanna Kumar, Dinesh C, VP – HR, NR Group and Dr Seetharam, Vice President, SVYMat the Achala Hall, V-LEAD Hostel. The ten-day residential camp was attended by 20 people from 7 slums in the city.

The event was concluded after an extensive program that included yoga, medication for depression and other disorders if any, counselling by experts and experience exchange therapy. The drive was a success in curbing addiction among the repeated alcohol and drug abusers and has helped in creating a positive impact on their physical and mental health. The holistic experience of the program has immensely helped people in their fight against addiction.

At the valedictory ceremony, Das, a Painter by profession and one of the camp attendees said, “It was because of my friends I became addicted to Alcohol.  I had completely ignored my family during that phase. Now I repent for what I have done to my family. I am really happy that I opted for this camp and spent 10 days.  I have pledged that I will never touch drugs again in my life. I have realized that my family is my priority, I will go back and spend more time with them.” -(KK)
