Debts: Farmer ends life
Unable pay his debts, a farmer committed suicide by consuming poison.
The deceased Puttaraju (58) of Abbooru Village, K R Nagar, had borrowed a loan of Rs 7 lakh from Hanasoge Co-operative bank and a few private money-lenders. It is said that Puttaraju farmer had harvested paddy, ginger and tobacco in his two-acre land but resulted in a loss. Dejected, he consumed poison on Saturday. He was admitted to Hassan District Hospital where he breathed his last at 4 am on Sunday. A case has been registered at K R Nagar police station.
