Decline in SSLC results; measures suggested

Mysuru, May 26:- Convener of Karnataka Samajika Nyaya Rakshana Vedike, H Lakkegowda rejected criticism that teachers are responsible for the decline in SSLC results.

He was addressing a press meet at the Mysuru Press Club on Friday. He condemned the decision of demoting and transfer of BEO, officials and teachers. According to a study, about 87% of the high school students don’t know mathematics and alphabets. If that is the state of affairs, how can they pass the SSLC examination? he questioned.

He urged the state government to follow the norms of central education system and hold public exams for 5th and 7th standard. Instead of taking action against poor teachers for no fault of theirs, take corrective measures for better results in SSLC,” he said.

B H Govindegowda and Bank Shankar were present at the press meet. (MR/KMR).
