Dedication and hard work brings success: Prof Hi Shi Ramachandregowda

Workshop on 'Kanakadasa' held at Kuvempunagar First Grade College in Mysuru

Mysuru, March 17:- “Dedication, hard work and an open mind will pave way for success,” said folklore scholar Prof Hi Shi Ramachandregowda.

He was speaking at a workshop on ‘Kanakadasa’ at Kuvempunagar First Grade College in the city on Friday.

“If you don’t understand the message of Kanakadasa even in the 21st century, we will be marching backwards. Our culture has taught us to search for good words and thoughts. We like to search for the light and not darkness. Politicians and religious preachers are making us to go backward. Religion has to revive with time. Religions should treat people equally. Kanakadasa who once was a soldier became a saint and a poet. Kanakadasa tried to establish equality in the society. He proved that devotion is also a way to development,” he added.

Principal of the college Dr N Ragini, joint director of College Education Department Prof H Udayashankar, Ka Ta Chikkanna, convener Dr H P Geetha and others were present. (GK, NGB)
