Mysuru, May 3:- “Dedication and willingness are required for nation-building. If we don’t have these qualities, both nation and culture will diminish,” said well-known theatre activist Janardhan (Janni) here on Thursday.
He was speaking after inaugurating 128th Jayanti of Dr B R Ambedkar at Law School of the University of Mysore here at Manasagangothri.
“Law students have to carry forward the legacy of Dr Ambedkar. Father of the Indian Constitution lived with difficulty and achieved a lot. He was a great personality. The mind should be creative and healthy. If our mind gets affected, our health also gets spoiled. Dr Ambedkar had his mind healthy and pure. He didn’t tolerate a human being treated cheaply,” he added.
“The Constitution drafted by him is the reason why every citizen is living happily. He restricted working hours to 8 hours a day and introduced PF, ESI and other facilities,” said Prof G Hemanth Kumar, Vice Chancellor of the University of Mysore.
Senior journalist Amshi Prasanna Kumar, head of the Department of Law Prof C Basavaraju and others were present. (MR/GK)
